The search and rescue team Kyndill has been active since 1960 in search and rescue as well as preventive work. The team also handles storm assistance, asset rescue and various projects that benefit the community as a whole. All of the team's work is of course done on a voluntary basis, but all income is used for the operation of the equipment available, maintenance of housing and to buy any kind of rescue equipment. Right now we are buying a quality house for the platform of our Ford, which is an extremely powerful jeep. In this house, it will be possible to transport people on a stretcher, and it is the ambition of the members to make the best possible arrangements to take care of injured individuals and to be able to bring them to a settlement safely with as little discomfort as possible. There are also plans to renew the teams GPS devices, to name a few. Maintaining a strong rescue operation and making sure that all equipment is in order when needed is certainly a challenge, but all worth it in the end. To get an injured person from the highlands or glaciers of the country into the hands of ambulance personnel in no worse condition than when we arrived is what we members are passionate about. When this succeeds, we members of Kyndill are handling a gift. And all days of the year we are ready to handle a gift like that.
