The purpose of the Icelandic ME association is to protect the interests of members such as e.g. to fight for early diagnosis, access to the right healthcare and the right treatments within the health system.

The association represents members towards the public sector, as well as domestic and foreign parties. The association monitors innovations in research and treatment of the disease and encourages the health system to increase patients' access to treatments that are promising for improved health and quality of life.
